The purposes for which the corporation is formed are to advance, encourage and promote the industrial, economic, commercial and civic development of Jackson Township by acting as a designated agency of Jackson Township in accordance with Sections 1724.10 and 1724.02(b) of the Ohio Revised Code. 

                                                                  

 
Jackson & Canton To Share Taxes From Wind Site
Jackson Township and the City of Canton will soon be sharing income taxes from contractors working on a planned $11.8 million wind energy research center...a joint project of the Timken Company and Stark State College.  Under the terms of the JEDD (Joint Economic Development District) permanent employees will be subject to the two percent income tax when the center opens.
