Nominated by his peers, Firefighter/Paramedic Scott Applegate has been selected as and awarded the 2023 Firefighter of the Year.
Scott’s daily work ethic and positive attitude have been contagious. He continuously applies great effort and passion into the community CPR classes, and ACLS recertification trainings. The time he invests as the department quartermaster, a SWAT-Medic, and his Stark County Hazmat-Technician duties are more than most realize. On calls, Scott has been reliable and dedicated to serving the community, as well as fellow department members.
