01042026 JTFD Media Release (Commercial fire).docx (2)At approximately 8:38 a.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, Jackson Township Fire Department, Stark County, Ohio crews responded to reports of smoke coming from a commercial building in the 7800 block of Freedom Avenue NW. Upon arrival, crews found smoke and fire showing from the roof. Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack but soon transitioned to defensive operations due to structural instability.
