Parking Ban Press Release
For Immediate Release: January 16, 2025
At 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, the Board of Trustees of Jackson Township, Stark County, issued a Snow Emergency Parking Ban on all roads in the unincorporated area of the Township. The ban is scheduled to commence at 5:00 PM THURSDAY, JANUARY 16, 2025, and end 8:00 AM, FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2025.
The Snow Emergency Parking Ban was prompted subsequent to the National Weather Service issuing a Winter Weather Advisory for Stark County on Wednesday, January 16, 2025. In accordance with Ohio Revised Code 505.17 and 4521.02, the Board of Trustees declared a Snow Emergency Parking Ban.
The times of the Snow Emergency Parking Ban were chosen to afford the Township Highway Crews the best operational efficiency while balancing public safety and yet minimize impacts to our residents and guests. All vehicles and trailers must be removed from all roads in the unincorporated area of the Township to allow snowplows to clear the roadways, ensure safe passage for emergency service personnel and equipment, and the safe passage of the driving public.
Vehicles and trailers found parked in violation of the Snow Emergency Parking Ban will be ticketed, and if not removed promptly from the road may be towed. The Jackson Police Department will be actively engaged in enforcement of the Snow Emergency Parking Ban.
Key Points:
- The snow parking ban applies to all roads in the unincorporated area of the Township commencing at 5 p.m., on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
