ADVERTISEMENT FOR
2024 CURBING REPLACEMENT
Sealed bids for 2024 Curbing Replacement will be received at the Office of the Board of Trustees of Jackson Township, Stark County, Ohio, 5735 Wales Avenue NW, Massillon, Ohio 44646 and online at www.BidExpress.com until 4:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Bids will be publicly opened and read on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. The time, place, and date of bid openings may be extended to a later date by the Board of Trustees, provided that written notice of the change shall be given to all persons who have received or requested specifications no later than 96 hours prior to the original time and date fixed for the opening.
The above designed work includes the furnishings of all labor, equipment, material, appurtenances, and incidentals required for 2024 Curbing Replacement. A non-refundable cash deposit of $40.00 will be required in advance for each set of plans and specifications. Checks for plans and specifications shall be made payable to the Jackson Township Board of Trustees. The Bid Documents may be examined and obtained at the following location, after March 4, 2024.

Each bid and all certificates shall be upon the forms furnished with the specifications and shall be delivered to the Office of the Jackson Township Trustees at or prior to the date and hour specified for receiving bids. Each bid shall be in conformity with the Revised Code of Ohio, shall contain the names of every person and company interested therein, and shall be on the forms included in the specifications. Each bidder must submit evidence of its’ experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. Each bid shall be accompanied by a proper certificate by corporations not chartered in Ohio testifying that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio.
Construction work shall be subject to the prevailing wage rates established by the Ohio Department of Commerce. Each bidder must insure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, sex, disability or military status as defined in section 4112.01 of the Revised Code, or color.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guaranty in the form of: 1) a certified check, or cashier’s check, or letter of credit, equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid; or 2) a bid guaranty bond for the full amount of the bid; both forms of a guaranty as provided in Ohio Revised Code 153.54 and in the project specifications. The amount of the bid for said guaranty purposes should include all additive and deductive alternates. All bid guaranties shall be conditioned that if the bid is accepted within sixty (60) days of the opening, a proper contract shall be executed, and that upon failure or refusal to enter into said contract within ten (10) days after receipt of notification of award the bidder and the surety on any bond shall be liable to the township in an amount not to exceed ten percent (10%) of the bid. At the option of the Jackson Township Trustees, such bond/check will be returned to all except the apparent low bidder. The bond/checks of all unsuccessful bidders will be returned immediately upon award of the contract or the rejection of all bids.
The Engineer’s estimate for this Project is contained in the Project Specifications. Ohio Revised Code Section 5575.03 prohibits the Jackson Township Trustees from awarding a bid if the price is more than ten percent (10%) in excess of said estimated cost.
A contract will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder who meets requirements of ORC Section 153.54. The Jackson Township Trustees reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received and to accept any bid or combination of bids which is deemed most favorable to the Township at the time and under the conditions stipulated. Terms of payment are as provided in Chapter 5575 of the Ohio Revised Code. Work shall not begin prior to the authorization in writing by the Board of Township Trustees. The work shall be completed by October 31, 2024.
A Pre-bid Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jackson Township Hall, 5735 Wales Avenue NW, Jackson Township, Ohio 44646.
