Nominated by his peers, Firefighter/Paramedic Scott Applegate has been selected as and awarded the 2023 Firefighter of the Year. Scott’s daily work ethic and positive attitude have been contagious. He continuously applies great effort and passion into the community CPR classes, and ACLS recertification trainings. The time he invests as the department quartermaster, a SWAT-Medic, and his Stark County Hazmat-Technician duties are more than most realize. Read MoreAt last night’s Trustee Meeting, several members of Jackson Township’s Safety Forces were recognized for their response to a serious traffic crash on September 25th, 2023, where one of the driver’s had suffered life threatening injuries. Aultman Hospital Trauma Services recognized Officer Trsinar, Officer Roberts, Officer Smith and several members of the Jackson Township Fire Department for working as a team and providing critical first aid care, which resulted in the victim surviving.
