Jackson Township Ice Skating Rink Opens Wednesday, December 29th, 2021

Jackson Township’s new synthetic ice skating rink is still being finalized but will be open during the following days and times for our residents: Tuesday 12/28: CLOSED, still under construction. Wednesday 12/29 and Thursday 12/30: Open skate for those with their own skates. Free skate rental from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Friday 12/31/2021 through Sunday 1/2/2022: Open skate for those with their own skates from 8:00am to 8:00pm. No skate rental available on these days due to the New Year’s Day Holiday. Yard Waste Site Closing Date

The Jackson Township Yard Waste Site will close for the season on January 17 at Dusk.  Drop off all of your live Christmas decorations.  We will reopen in Spring. Watch Facebook for details.

American Flag Retirement Box

November 19, 2021

Joe Richmond, a Jackson Township resident, and a member of Boy Scout Troop 2050 in Alliance completed his Eagle Scout project and presented it to the Jackson Township Trustees at their meeting on November 18, 2021. Joe constructed an American Flag retirement box (pictured below).  This retirement box can be found in the lobby area of Jackson Township Administrative Offices.  Residents now have a place to bring their worn-out and distressed flags for proper retirement. Jackson Fire Department New Full-Time Firefighters

Please join us in welcoming our 5 new full-time firefighters Leroy Yoder, Corey Korosa, Nicholas Wilson, Andrew Kendrick and Kristopher Hendershot (left to right 1st group photo). All were sworn in November 18th, 2021 at the Trustees meeting. Leroy Yoder will be assigned to A shift. Kristopher Hendershot and Nicholas Wilson will be assigned to B shift. Andrew Kendrick and Corey Korosa will be assigned to C shift. Leroy, Corey, Nicholas, Andrew and Kristopher all started out here at Jackson Fire Department as part time firefighters. Trunk or Treat

The Jackson Township Trustees in conjunction with the Jackson Township Fire, Police and Public Works Departments hosted a free and safe Trunk Or Treat event on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from noon to 1:30 pm though the Amphitheater parking lot.  The Trustees along with Township staff handed out treats to 183 vehicles.

Kirk Schuring Park – Dedication

On Friday, October 29, 2021, the Jackson Township Board of Trustees adopted Resolution 21-221, which officially dedicated the former Tam O’Shanter golf course and renamed Jackson Township’s forty (40) acres as the Kirk Schuring Park. Senator Kirk Schuring has been instrumental in helping Jackson Township obtain funding for some of our largest township projects and has been an outstanding partner to Jackson Township and its citizens. Senator Schuring provided the pathway to major projects such as the Jackson Library, Amphitheater, YMCA, and Jackson Parks.
